McLean Cyclist Knocked Out In 'Bike Rage' Attack
The cyclist was seriously injured when another person knocked him off his bike on the W&OD Trail in Ashburn.

ASHBURN, VA—A McLean cyclist became unconscious and was hospitalized after another cyclist assaulted him on the Washington and Old Dominion Trail in Ashburn, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Around 2:15 p.m., the 63-year-old victim was headed west on trail near Ashburn Village Boulevard and attempted to pass two other cyclists by going in the center lane. But then a cyclist headed in the opposite direction reached out his arm and whacked the victim's helmet, causing him to crash.
According to NBC Washington, the cyclist was knocked out after the assault. He was taken to the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital and later to Inova Fairfax Hospital. The victim is in stable condition.

The suspect, who kept on going, was wearing a white and light green Castelli jersey, helmet and sunglasses and is 6 foot. His bike was described as being similar to a time trial bike or a triathlon bike. The bars on the bike were "aero bars," and his helmet was an "aero" helmet covered with a sun shade that covered half his face.
