McLean Home Invader Convicted on All 7 Counts: Report

Andrew Schmuhl was convicted of barging into the home of a man who fired his wife and then brutally assaulting him and his wife.

The man who broke into an elderly couple's home in McLean in 2014 and brutally assaulted them has been found guilty on all seven charges, according to a report.

The Associated Press reported that the jury convicted Andrew Schmuhl on Tuesday, June 14 of charges that included aggravated malicious wounding in the attack of lawyer Leo Fisher and his wife Sue Duncan in their home in November 2014 after his wife was fired by Fisher.

A sentencing recommendation hearing will take place on Thursday, June 17.

Schmuhl barged into the couple's home, tied them up, tasered Fisher and shot and stabbed Duncan. In addition to the malicious wounding charge, he also was convicted on charges of burglary and using a firearm in a felony. He would face a minimum of 108 years in prison if all sentences run consecutively.

Schmuhl's lawyer tried to argue that his client was intoxicated by opiates and wasn't thinking clearly during the attack and couldn't even recall it.
