McLean Student Athletes, Teams Recognized By County Supervisors

Student athletes from the McLean area were recognized for their championship-level efforts during the 2023-24 winter sports season.

MCLEAN, VA — Students from the McLean area were recognized Tuesday morning for the athletic prowess they demonstrated during the 2023-24 winter sports season.

Fairfax County Board of Supervisors presented certificates to the following student athletes from the McLean area who earned state championships:

  • Soren Pirhoun, Marshall High School, Wrestling, 215 pounds.
  • McLean High School, Swim and Dive, Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay.

  • Robert Roncskevitz, Langley High School, Wrestling, 165 pounds.
  • Langley High School, Swim and Dive, Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay.
  • Langley High School, Swim and Dive, Boys 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.
  • Jocelyn Brooks, McLean High School, Swim and Dive, Girls 1 Meter Diving.
  • Catherine Hughes, McLean High School, Swim and Dive, Girls 100 Yard Breaststroke.

Earlier in the morning, the supervisors presented proclamations to South Lakes High School's girls indoor track and field and boys basketball teams, which earned championships during the 2023-24 winter sports season.
