Metro Offers Credit to Silver, Orange, Blue Line Riders After Delays
The credits are good for any riders on the three lines who used a SmarTrip card during their Friday commute.

In the aftermath of a week riddled with delays, Metro announced Friday it is offering a SmarTrip credit to all riders who used a SmarTrip card to travel on the Blue, Orange or Silver lines on Friday.
Any rider who used a card to enter and exit the system and used one of the three aforementioned lines between the hours of 5 a.m. and 7 p.m. will automatically receive a credit on their card for the fare they were originally charged.
Metro assures these credits are automatically processed and require no action from the customers.

“We absolutely understand the frustration among our Blue, Orange and Silver line customers,” Metro Interim General Manager and CEO Jack Requa said in a news release. “Given the significant service disruptions that inconvenienced riders over multiple commutes this week, we are taking this step to thank everyone for bearing with us. I also offer a sincere apology to everyone who was inconvenienced.”
These most recent delays were the result of a train derailment on Thursday morning during the peak morning commuting hours.
