Pedestrian Killed In Tysons Area Hit-And-Run: Police
Police seek information on the driver who fatally hit a pedestrian.

TYSONS, VA—A pedestrian was struck and killed in the Tysons area Tuesday, Fairfax County Police.
Officers responded to the crash before 7 a.m. at the ramp from eastbound Leesburg Pike to southbound Interstate 495. Initial investigations found the pedestrian was crossing the ramp and struck between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. The vehicle left the scene, according to police. Details on the striking vehicle were not immediately available.
The victim was identified as Chandra Bhandari, 72, of Falls Church. Bhandari was found near a crosswalk and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe speed was a factor in the crash. Alcohol or drugs were likely not factors for the pedestrian.

The eastbound ramp to the southbound Capital Beltway was closed Tuesday morning as police investigated. Anyone with information about the crash should call police at 703-280-0543.
