Veteran-Owned IT Business Expands In Tysons

An IT small business headquartered in Tysons will more than double its workforce, the company announced.

TYSONS, VA—A veteran-owned information technology business is expanding operations in Tysons. MicroHealth, which provides health information technology and management, is investing $395,000 to create 65 new jobs.

“MicroHealth is proud to contribute to Fairfax County and the Commonwealth of Virginia’s economy as it continues to diversify and grow, particularly in this important industry," said CEO of MicroHealth Frank Tucker in a statement.

The expansion will more than double the company's workforce. MicroHealth was named one the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. by Inc. last year. MicroHealth is a Center for Veteran Enterprises and a verified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. The company helps health providers to use IT to produce better health outcomes. The expansion was created through a state-funded business incentive and in partnership with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority.

IT is one of the fastest growing industries in Virginia. Over the last decade, the state has added nearly 50,000 IT jobs.

“Expanding this Commonwealth’s position as a global leader in the IT sector is a critical component of our mission to diversify and build the new Virginia economy,” said Governor Terry McAuliffe in a statement. “We are proud to help this veteran-owned business expand and continue its important work in Fairfax County.”

MicroHealth is located at 8245 Boone Boulevard in Tysons.
