Water System Shut Off At Great Falls Park

Water will be shut off at Great Falls Park for an unknown amount of time while repairs occur.

MCLEAN, VA—Great Falls Park has shut off the water system Thursday, Jan. 11 for emergency repairs. The park has not given a timeline for when the repairs will be complete.

The repairs will cause some changes in park services. Port-a-Potties will replace bathrooms and will be in the staff parking lot behind the visitor center. These will be the only bathroom facilities open in the park. Visitors are also encouraged to purchase bottled water due to fountains being shut off.

The park said in a statement major repairs are needed for the main water supply tank. Visitors should plan ahead with these conditions in mind.
