Update: McLean Wells Fargo Bank Robber Charged

Update: Police arrested and charged a suspect in a Tuesday morning Wells Fargo bank robbery in McLean.

(Updated 1:45 p.m. Tuesday) MCLEAN, VA -- Fairfax County Police have quickly arrested a suspect in a Tuesday morning Wells Fargo Bank robbery in McLean.

Around 9:35 a.m., police responded to the robbery at the Wells Fargo at 6844 Old Dominion Drive. The suspect walked into the bank and demanded money in a note. No weapon was seen and there were no injuries, police say.

The suspect drove away in a Silver Honda Civic with an undisclosed amount of cash. He headed north on Route 123, and within ten minutes, authorities located and arrested the suspect at Kirby Road and Linwood Terrace.

Richard Chit Nyi Nyi Chitty, 34, of McLean, was arrested and charged with robbery.
