• Up to 300 homes could replace Merrifield office after live/work plan stalls (ffxnow.com) — A long-vacant Inova office building on Gatehouse Road in Merrifield could be demolished and replaced with up to 300 new homes, plus a public urban park and improved sidewalks and crosswalks. Fairfax County is reviewing a rezoning and related comprehensive plan amendment, with details still to come after a recent virtual community meeting.
   

• Man charged with burglarizing multiple medical offices in Fairfax County (ffxnow.com) — Police have charged a Woodbridge man in a series of medical office burglaries, including one on Willow Oaks Corporate Drive in Merrifield where cameras, equipment, and cash were taken. Detectives say he remains in custody ahead of a December court hearing and are asking anyone with information on related Fairfax County burglaries to contact investigators or Crime Solvers.
   

• True Food Kitchen closes Reston restaurant, still open in Merrifield (ffxnow.com) — True Food Kitchen's Mosaic District restaurant in Merrifield remains open and operating normally, even as the company files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and closes its Reston location. The chain says new financing should keep remaining locations running while it restructures and looks for a long-term buyer to stabilize the brand.
