August Japanese Stiltgrass Cleanups- Round 2(019)

Come to Frying Pan Farm Park to help us remove the invasive plant, Japanese stiltgrass!

Dates: August 10, 17, 18, 24

Location: 2709 West Ox Road, Herndon, VA

Directions: Drive to the farm side of the park- NOT the visitor center. Once you've parked, walk towards the indoor horse arena, then take a left to the trailer lot. You should be able to see us next to the shipping containers down near the right corner of the lot.

Other notes:

  • Be sure to bring water and sunscreen- August weather tends to be pretty hot and humid, so heatstroke and sunburns are an issue.
  • We're in the forest and there will be bugs- you can either wear long pants and a long-sleeved (but comfortable) shirt, or bring bug repellent.
  • Stiltgrass isn't a thorny plant, but there may be additional invasives or tree branches that will be removed- bring a pair of gloves to keep your hands safe and clean.
  • Have any questions, or need service hours approved? Send them over to us at fpfpstart@gmail.com
