Ethnic Slurs Yelled At Women In Oakton: Police

BREAKING: Police are investigating a suspect that yelled ethnic slurs at two older women and assaulted one in Oakton.

OAKTON, VA -- Police are investigating a bias-related incident where a man yelled ethnic slurs at two women Wednesday at the Oakton Shopping Center. Officer Tawny Wright, a spokesperson for police, told Patch the department is not releasing the ethnicity of the victims.

Around 7 p.m., a 79-year old woman and a middle-aged relative were walking when a man spoke to them. He became upset and shouted ethnic slurs. Wright said the younger woman responded and was assaulted.

Police are close to confirming the suspect's identity, and charges will likely result. Patch will update this story if suspect information and charges are released.
