We are pleased to welcome violinist Dr. Rami Kanaan and pianist Bettye Cooley for a return engagement with the OaktonChurch of the Brethren Concert Series. This time the duo come to delight the audience with Three Sonatinas for Violin and Piano, op. 137 by Franz Schubert.
The performance in the church sanctuary -- is free with donations accepted for outreach programs of the church. Please invite your friends and neighbors!
Dr. Kanaan has composed several pieces for strings. He was named as Composer in Residence for the Potomac Chamber Music Connection at George Mason University in 2004. His composition “Oriental Sketches” was performed and recorded for that event.

Currently, Dr. Kanaan is an adjunct professor of violin at Northern Virginia Community College, Alexandria Campus.
Bettye Scott Cooley received her M.M. in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from George Mason University. She is a member of Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association and maintains a private piano studio in the Centreville area. She is also active as a church musician.
