Faith Groups To Gather To Celebrate and Create Understanding
Unity of Fairfax is hosting an interfaith service and dialogue that will include participants from many religions.

Leaders and members of a diverse array of faith communities in Fairfax County will gather April 1 for an interfaith service and dialog to focus on the creation of more understanding in our community and world. The service will include celebrations of peace from the perspective of many different faiths, as well as a 30-minute breakout discussion on how to foster interfaith understanding both locally and globally. The event will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 1 at Unity of Fairfax, 2854 Hunter Mill Road in Oakton.
"We are hosting this event to grow the consciousness of the richness of our community,” said Rev. Russell Heiland, senior minister at Unity of Fairfax. “When there is so much divisive news, it is imperative that faith communities come together to show our mutual respect and commitment to creating and sustaining welcoming, diverse and inclusive communities."
Participating local faith groups include Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, New Thought, Unitarianism, and Buddhism.
