Man Arrested for Terrorist Threats to Metro
Arlington man allegedly threatened pipe bomb attacks in D.C.

A 26-year-old Arlington man was arrested Dec. 7 for making threatening statements on Facebook, according to the FBI's terrorism taskforce. Awais Younis, who was arrested on the charge of Threatening Interstate Communication, lived at 1561 11th St S, in South Arlington.
An unknown complaintant received threatening messages through Facebook from Younis in which he allegedly made specific threats to the complaintant's father, who rides the Metro to work every day. In addition, the FBI complaint said Younis detailed where he could place pipe bombs on a Metro train or below a sewer grate in Georgetown to inflict the maximum number of casualties.
"the only way to make things OK with me is to fear me. that i will prove. get ready!" Younis said over Facebook, according to court documents. The full details of an exchange between the complaintant, who reported Younis to the New Orleans FBI office, can be read in the filing.

Other aspects of Younis's Facebook page alluded to terrorist activities. One photo allegedly showed Younis holding an AK-47 in front of a tent containing explosives in Afghanistan. The photo was labeled "My family business."
