Increased DWI Enforcement Happening In Fair Oaks

Fairfax County Police will crack down on intoxicated driving with extra enforcement this weekend.

OAKTON, VA—Police are continuing to crack down on intoxicated driving after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Increased DWI enforcement will take place Friday night in the Fair Oaks Police District.

While it has not been announced as a sobriety checkpoint, police remind residents not to drink and drive. Police have not announced the location and exact time of the increased enforcement.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, Virginia State Police had increased traffic enforcement, resulting in 102 arrests. Last year, 1,980 people were charged with driving under the influence in Fairfax County. That's an increase of over 100 from the previous year. In Virginia, the legal limit of blood alcohol concentration is 0.08 percent.
