Peizer Tournament MVP, Oakton's Athlete of the Week

Marilyn Peizer knew her Huskies would have to bear down defensively to beat a tough field in Flint Hill's invitational volleball tournament last week. She did nearly enough on her own to keep the trophy in Oakton.

Peizer's 11 kills in the championship match against Liberty earned her tournament MVP honors, as the host school swept the final.

"There are very defensive teams and very offensive teams as I see it," Peizer said. "They're (Liberty Christian Academy) a very scrappy defensive team and you just have to be ready for it to come back."
