Rise Against Hunger! Help Vale Church Package 75,000 Meals!

Oakton's Vale United Methodist Church Will Host It's Eighth Annual "Rise Against Hunger" Meal Packaging Event on Sunday January 20th

Vale United Methodist Church (11528 Vale Road, Oakton) will host our eighth annual Rise Against Hunger packaging event on Sunday, January 20th. Members of the community are invited to help us package meals for the global anti-hunger organization Rise Against Hunger (www.riseagainsthunger.org).

Ingredients for the meals are being purchased from the proceeds of Vale Church’s annual Christmas tree sale—so if you purchased a tree from us, thank you! We hope you can join us on the 2oth to see your purchase put to good use!

We are planning for three shifts: 11:30am - 1:30pm, 2:00 - 4:00pm, and 4:30 - 6:30pm. There are lots of ways you can assist and the whole family can participate! Kids 8 and up can help while child care for children under 8 can be provided if you give us advance notice (please make a note in the comments section!) Teens can earn service hours toward school requirements.

Please note: All participants must cover their hair, so you may either wear the provided hair net or bring your own hat!
