Rotary Club of Vienna award will support childrens food program

Assistance League of Virginia will use funds for Weekend Food for Kids

At the Rotary Club of Vienna luncheon held on June 6th, President-Elect Sheila Brennan presented Kathy Jackson, President of the Assistance League of Northern Virginia, with a check for $2,000 from the Rotary Club of Vienna, VA Foundation, Inc. The funds will support the Assistance League's Weekend Food for Kids program. The Rotary Club of Virginia raises money for charitable, community and humanitarian organizations through its major fund-raising project, Viva! Vienna!, a family and community-oriented celebration of Memorial Day and the greater Vienna Community spirit. This is the fifth year that the Assistance League, an all-volunteer organization, has received funding from the Rotary Club of Vienna in support of the program to increase food security in the region. The Assistance League is grateful to the Rotary Club of Vienna, VA, Inc. for giving back so generously to our community.
