For far too long, some teachings about the Bible have diminished individuals of the GLBTQ community, leaving them with the belief that they are not loved by God. Rev. Harry B. Stock, ordained minister in Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC), takes you on a journey through ancient Hebrew, Greek, and Roman traditions to show their influence on scripture writings. He will offer examples throughout the Old and New Testaments of true translations that reveal God’s love is for all. The workshop is geared toward members, friends, and allies of the GLBTQ community.
This program will be held on Saturday, June 4 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Unity of Fairfax Sanctuary, located at 2854 Hunter Mill Road, Oakton, Virginia. Registration and refreshments begin at 9:30 am. Advance registration is available online at www.unityoffairfax.org and recommended in order to prepare binders for each participant. Registration is $40.00. Lunch will be provided.

Rev. Stock earned his Masters of Divinity degree from Virginia Theological Seminary. He served as a Metropolitan Community Church pastor for 14 years. Currently he serves as Parish Partner at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C, and lives in Waldorf, Maryland, with Mark, his partner of 37 years.
