Artwork by South Lakes High students is included in the Visions exhibition at Marymount University which runs until January 3, 2021. South Lakes students who won honorable mention awards for their work are David Raw and Maxine Prudhomme. South Lakes students whose work was accepted into the Visions exhibition include Juana Hernandez, Sahitya Jammula, Audrey Kim, Brianna Le, Maxine Prudhomme, David Raw, Milagro Rosa Flores, Simone Stevens, Camila Ytriago and Mindy Zheng.
Art teacher Matt Ravenstahl said, “The South Lakes work is incredibly inventive, personal, and experimental in both media and concept.” In her curator’s statement, Erica Harrison shared, “When selecting the works for the exhibition, I looked for a combination of form and content that was intelligent and compelling…The notable artists selected as awardees not only demonstrated a mastery of media but showed a passion for independent exploration and a willingness to push themselves.” The entire exhibition can be viewed online.
