Your Sunshine Has Done It Again: June Edition

Your Sunshine, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering special needs individuals, has put on many fun events in the month of June.

Your Sunshine has done it again.

The summer heat usually means people starting to relax, take vacations, and slow things down. But not for Your Sunshine – in fact, in the month of June they stepped it up to a whole other level. They launched two new awesome projects, as well as started their summer workshops and stayed busy almost every weekend hosting fun activities for the nonprofit. This included a strawberry picking picnic, a hiking trip through the Shenandoah waterfalls, customized birthday party celebrations, and a zoofari adventure.

All of these activities were catered especially for individuals with special needs. Not only are these events a fun way to get outside and explore, but they also have numerous benefits for our special needs friends. This vastly helps with their social skills, since they get to meet other people with and without special needs and make new friends. It also helps with emotional and cognitive development since these events contain educational information and often spiritual experiences. President and founder Anastasia Martynova is a huge proponent of meditation, deep breathing, and connecting to yourself and your emotions, which she often incorporates into these fun-filled events. So if you have special needs, know somebody with special needs, or even just want some fun adventure in your life and feel like trying something new, these events and activities are all-inclusive and just a small fee, if not free!
