2 Displaced After Alexandria High-Rise Fire
Firefighters tackled a blaze on the 15th floor of a high-rise Monday.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Two residents were displaced after a fire at their high-rise building in Alexandria Monday. No one was injured, the Alexandria Fire Department says.
Around 4 p.m., firefighters responded to the 6100 block of Edsall Road and found fire showing from a 15th floor unit. A photo posted by the IAFF Local 2141 firefighters' union indicated the fire happened at Landmark Ridge Apartments. The fire was under control as of 5:17 p.m., but units stayed on scene to remove smoke.
According to IAFF Local 2141, units battled the fire amidst high wind conditions. In light of the incident, the union renewed its call for more staffing for fire responses.

Red Cross responded to offer assistance to the displaced residents. There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire or damages.
