20 Can’t-Miss Events In Northern VA Before Winter Ends

From a family friendly Mardi Gras, along with Black History Month events, here are ways to get out of the house in Northern Virginia.

The 2026 events calendar in Northern Virginia is springing to life as winter makes its final push.

That includes multiple events to honor Black History Month, such as “How Do We Know That?”: Documenting the Slave Jail at 1315 Duke Street on Feb. 21 at the Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden, 614 Oronoco St. in Alexandria. Or check out Vienna's 1st Annual Black History Program on Feb. 28.

The 40-day Lenten season began with Ash Wednesday, and fish fry feeds and Easter egg hunts will soon fill the calendar on Fridays through March.
