Alexandria Area Wegmans Is Hosting Hiring Event
Looking for a new job? Wegmans is holding a hiring event at the Alexandria area store.

KINGSTOWNE, VA—Are you in the market for a new job? The Alexandria area Wegmans (7905 Hilltop Village Center Drive) will be hiring at an event Tuesday, Sept. 12.
Open interviews will be held between 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Part-time and full-time positions are available, with jobs ranging from entry-level management to cooks, and roles in the perishable food departments. Wegmans is hiring for 150 positions across Northern Virginia, and this store in particular is looking for applicants for its service, perishable, culinary and merchandising departments.
Full-time employees must work 40 or more hours per week and should have open availability during operating hours of 6 a.m. to midnight. Part-time employees work in fourto eight hour shifts with up to 30 hours per week.

Applicants should apply online before the hiring event and must be 18 or older. Other requirements are:
- Must be able to have continuous interactions with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to spend the majority of time on his or her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours
- May be exposed to various allergens
- Specific motions, weight lifting requirements and temperature conditions will vary by department
- Perishable and prepared foods departments require proper and safe handling of knives and other cooking or baking utensils and equipment
- Employees working in perishable and prepared foods areas must wear hair restraints at all times and no facial ornaments or jewelry.

Wegmans also operates stores in Fairfax, Sterling, Woodbridge and Gainesville. The grocery store chain plans to open a Chantilly location in mid 2018 and Tysons Corner location by late 2018.
