Alexandria Boutique Mint Condition To Remain Open With New Owners
Sisters who manage two other Alexandria boutiques will be taking over Mint Condition.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The founder of designer and luxury consignment boutique Mint Condition is leaving to relocate near loved ones, but the store will go on under local ownership. Mint Condition owner Toni Henderson announced Wednesday the store was sold to 529 Kids Consign owner Megan Podolsky and The Shoe Hive director of operations Katie Coslov.
When Henderson made the decision to leave, she sought out individuals who would understand her boutique and Old Town, as well as have a successful background in retail. It made sense for Henderson to think of Podolsky, who has experience in consignment and is president of the Old Town Boutique District. On top of that, Podolsky and Coslov are long-time consignors at Mint Condition.
Henderson's broker contacted Podolsky in early July, and the three set up a meeting. It turned out to be an opportune time for Podolsky and Coslov, who are sisters-in-law. "When Toni reached out to me about this opportunity, I was not only honored but extremely excited," said Podolsky in a statement. "I called Katie immediately, as I knew this was our chance to put our love of fashion and passion for our community together in one special place."

Podolsky and Coslov will shadow Henderson over the next month as the store transitions to new ownership. The new owners plan to host additional store events and partner with other area small businesses on community collaborations.
Mint Condition has been open for a decade, about the same time as Podolsky's 529 Kids Consign has operated. Coslov has been at The Shoe Hive for three years.

In a released statement, Henderson looks back at her decade of business in Old Town. "I’ve learned invaluable lessons about business, community, friendship and beyond," she said. "I love the store and am thrilled and humbled to reflect back on how it has grown, it has been a wonderful experience, but it was time for my next chapter."
Mint Condition is located at 103 South Saint Asaph Street.
