Alexandria Coronavirus Update: 41 New Cases, 26 Total Deaths
There are a total of 940 cases of the new coronavirus in Alexandria as of Monday morning.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — There are 41 new cases of the new coronavirus in the Alexandria Health District as of Monday morning, bringing the total number of cases in the health district to 940.
There have been a total of 26 deaths from COVID-19 in Alexandria as of Monday morning, according to the Virginia Department of Health.COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus. As of Monday morning, there are 100 coronavirus-related hospitalizations in the health district.
In Alexandria, there have been seven confirmed outbreaks at long term care facilities, one outbreak in a congregate setting and one outbreak in an educational setting.

Statewide, there have been 382 coronavirus-related deaths at long term care facilities, 13 deaths in congregate settings and one death at a correctional facility.
As of Monday morning, 821 additional cases of the new coronavirus and 24 more deaths were reported by the Virginia Department of Health. The latest totals are 19,492 positive cases, 684 deaths and 2,700 hospitalizations. On Sunday, the VDH reported 44 new deaths compared to Saturday's count.

On Monday, Virginia health officials reported an increase of 3,723 in the number of coronavirus tests conducted in the state. As of Monday, 122,788 people in Virginia have been tested for the virus compared to 119,065 on Sunday.

The breakdown by age is as follows:
- 0-9: 37 cases
- 10-19: 46 cases
- 20-29: 131 cases; 1 death
- 30-39: 236 cases
- 40-49: 176 cases
- 50-59: 128 cases; 7 deaths
- 60-69: 85 cases; 1 death
- 70-79: 56 cases; 7 deaths
- 80+: 44 cases; 10 deaths
- Age not reported: 1
The breakdown of cases by race, according to the Virginia Department of Health, is:
- White: 320 cases; 17 deaths
- Black or African American: 146 cases; 4 deaths
- Other: 150 cases; 1 death
The breakdown of cases by ethnicity is as follows:
- Hispanic or Latino: 393 cases; 4 deaths
- Not Hispanic or Latino: 308 cases; 18 deaths
