ALEXANDRIA, VA — Rex is a six-month-old puppy who loves humans and is already mastering basic commands like sit. He's available for adoption from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

According to the AWLA animal shelter, "Rex is six months old and currently weighs 31 pounds, and he will probably double in size. He is a very sweet puppy who loves people. Rex would make a great family pet but could also do well in a single household. As long as he is getting plenty of love and exercise, Rex is a happy pup."

Because Rex is so young, he's looking for a home where he can get the training he needs. But he's already on his way. "He already knows the cue for sit and is especially quick to do it if you are offering him a treat," the AWLA says.
