Alexandria Restaurant Partners Adds Air Purification Technology

The new technology at the restaurants achieves a 99.4 percent reduction of the coronavirus within a half hour.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — As the pandemic continues, air ventilation improvements are looked at as a strategy to reduce the risk of the coronavirus spreading. Alexandria Restaurant Partners announced Thursday that the latest air purification technology has been installed in all of its Northern Virginia restaurants.

Those installations can be found at Alexandria's Mia’s Italian Kitchen, Vola’s Dockside Grill, Theismann’s Restaurant and Bar, The Majestic and Arlington's Palette 22. The upcoming Ada's on the River and BARCA Wine Bar at the Robinson Landing development, which are anticipated to open in 2021, also have the technology.

The Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization technology purifies the air by attacking and killing viruses, mold spores and bacteria, according to ARP. Created by Global Plasma Solutions, it is the first air purification solution to test effectively neutralize the coronavirus and achieves a 99.4 percent reduction within a half hour.
