Alexandria Woman Found Guilty Of Involuntary Manslaughter In Metro Train Strike: Report

An Alexandria woman has been found responsible for the death of a man who jumped on to metro train tracks to avoid her.

ALEXANDRIA, VA – An Alexandria woman has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and assault and battery in the death of a man who ran onto metro tracks to escape her and was struck by a train, according to a new report.

ALX Now reports that Jamaya Ann Burch, 19, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and assault and battery for the 2025 incident that resulted in the death of James Halley Lynt, 40, at the Potomac Yard Metro Station.

Prosecutors argued that Burch, who was 18 at the time of the offense, and her 17-year-old girlfriend chased and attacked Lynt for more than 15 minutes, including on and off a train waiting at the platform, before he jumped down onto the tracks to escape them.
