Alexandria's Adoptable Pet Of The Week: A Good Boy You Can't Keep Down
Good boy Vinny is hoping for his own rags-to-riches story.

ALEXANDRIA VA – Vinny Jones, the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria's adoptable pet of the week, had a rough start in life.
The AWLA says, "Vinny Jones arrived at the AWLA as a stray. He was in rough shape; Vinny came in emaciated and nearly hairless due to mange. His sweet spirit shone through, and his love of life motivated him to get better."
Now, after 2 months of healing, Vinny has found his feet and is ready for his own home. The AWLA says this 2-year-old, 45-pound pup is a sweetheart who loves sitting on laps and giving kisses. He's also friendly with other dogs and likes to wrestle and play, even dabbling with toys and the concept of "fetch."

The AWLA reports that Vinny does great in his crate, has excellent leash manners, and is mostly housetrained, but still needs practice getting on a schedule. He can sometimes be intimidated by new things, but he's proven to be adaptable and communicates when something feels off.
To visit Vinny Jones or any of the other animals waiting for their homes, contact the AWLA shelter or visit them at 4101 Eisenhower Avenue during adoption hours, from noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, or noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
