UPDATE: A reported bomb threat was found to be not credible at Alexandria City High School on Wednesday.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Police have determined the bomb threat at Alexandria City High School was not credible after an evacuation and early dismissal Wednesday.
The high school's King Street campus was evacuated around 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Executive Principal Alexander Duncan III said in a message to families. Alexandria Police are on scene to investigate with school administrators. Around 1 p.m., Duncan said students would be dismissed for the day, and after-school activities were cancelled.
"Due to the size of the building, it will take a considerable amount of time to search and clear the building, and we are concerned about having students and staff outside of the building with the current temperature," Duncan said.
