$15 Protects Young Children from Preventable Accidents & Injuries

For most of us, $15 doesn't seem like a lot of money, but for a new family already struggling to pay for food and diapers, spending $15 on a home safety kit can seem like a luxury. That's where Healthy Families Alexandria, a program of Northern Virginia Family Services, comes in.

This week, ACTion Alexandria is helping Healthy Families Alexandria provide baby home safety kits to new families in Alexandria.  About 2.5 million children are injured or killed each year by dangers right in their own home, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Using home safety kits to child proof the home prevents common accidents that endanger children.
