Three Things You Need to Succeed When You Fail to Reach All of Your Goals

Since gratitude is one of the 3 ingredients to success in this blog, I'm posting this today. Happy Thanksgiving! May gratitude distract you from any troubles or stress that you may otherwise feel.

Confession: About five weeks after I wrote this inspiration-filled post about why I committed to run a third marathon, and about five weeks before my marathon, I gradually fell off the training program. I only trained up to 15 miles (instead of completing the two 20-mile runs proposed in the training schedule). So, how did I finish the full 26.2 miles? And, was it the joyathon I planned? Yes, I actually did feel joy and/or peace the entire race. Here are the three things that led to my success when I failed to reach all of my goals. Perhaps they can help you in your personal marathons?

1) Vision: Remember what you really want in the deepest part of your heart and soul.

2) Presence: See and feel your vision in the present moment and be aware of all that surrounds and supports it. When we are present, we receive presents. Click to Tweet!

3) Gratitude: Humbly surrender to the force within you and outside of you that brings good things to manifest our visions. Click to Tweet! When we are grateful for the presents, we can unwrap them and use them with grace to fulfill our visions. What good is their existence if they are not embraced?
