Why Unconditional Self-Love is Key to Organizational Success

How the lessons of Valentine's Day can help us as executives, professionals, and employees of all kinds.

 

Let me be clear that unconditional self-love does not mean tolerating negative behavior. Nor does it mean being selfish or greedy. I’m talking about self-perception, which ultimately drives our ability to trust and believe in ourselves, which in turn affects how we perceive others and the decisions we make.

To unpack this, I’m re-posting my last year’s Valentine’s Day blurb with a revised twist. This year, I want to take it a step further. At the risk of sounding too soft, I assert that unconditional self-love and positive self-perception are often overlooked, yet essential, ingredients to strong leadership and organizational composition.
