Celebree School Prepares For Winter Opening At Alexandria Development

A new child care and early education school in Alexandria has opened enrollment ahead of a projected winter opening.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Celebree School, a child care and early childhood education school, is preparing to open at Alexandria's Carlyle Crossing development.

The school at 2450 Mill Road in Alexandria is expected to open in winter 2022. Enrollment opened Monday, and a welcome center is open at 2455 Mandeville Lane in Alexandria to provide families with more information.

The new school adds a child care option at the new Carlyle Crossing development, which added 741 residential units over three apartment communities in 2021 and 2022. The development is anchored by a Wegmans store and is within walking distance of the Eisenhower Avenue Metro station.

The owners of the Alexandria Celebree School are Mohammad and his wife, Ayesha. Mohammad Ali grew up in Northern Virginia, is a certified public accountant and will be involved in Celebree School's operations. Ayesha is a primary care physician affiliated with Virginia Hospital Center. The school director is Jana Behm, who started her education career in 1994 as a PreK teacher and has experience as a teacher and administrator.

Celebree School provides early childhood education to infants, toddlers and PreK children as well as well as child care and summer camps for school-age children.

"Our priority is education by providing a safe, interactive environment that promotes active exploration and meaningful play," said Ali in an email to Patch. "Our classrooms and curriculum incorporate literacy, math, science, social studies, art and technology to continuously develop social, cognitive, and physical language skills for each child. We combine creative curriculum and conscious discipline with compassionate and capable teachers to help each child become more confident, independent, and enthusiastic to learn every day."

Celebree School dates back to 1994 when founder Richard Huffman opened his first early learning center in Ellicott City, Maryland. It started franchising in 2019 and has Northern Virginia locations in Tysons, Reston and Ashburn.
