Curative COVID Testing Sites To Close In Alexandria Near End Of 2022

Other options for COVID-19 testing will remain in Alexandria after Curative's testing kiosks close.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandrians will have one less option for COVID-19 testing when Curative's testing kiosks close on Dec. 26.

According to city government, Curative is closing all of its testing sites throughout the region. Locations in Alexandria include a mobile van at Casa Chirilagua, 4109 Mt Vernon Ave.; Ben Brenman Park, 4800 Brenman Park Dr.; and Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe St. The mobile testing locations provide free PCR testing regardless of insurance.

Since the Curative testing sites opened in January 2021, nearly 195,000 COVID-19 tests have been conducted. Lower testing demand and the availability of at-home tests were cited as reasons for the Curative testing location closures.
