Damon Jones Visits Alexandria Sportsman's Club

From Alexandria Sportsman's Club: Damon serves as Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Baseball & Business Operations. He oversees the Legal Department, is a member of the Baseball Operations Department, and has oversight of the Human Resources Department. He works closely with every other department in the organization, and its Board of Directors, on deals, legal and business strategy, special projects, disputes, and other matters. Jones' Baseball Operations work includes work on player contracts and salary arbitration with regard to strategy, preparation, negotiation and, specifically with arbitration, trial. He also works on grievances, Basic Agreement and Major League Rules issues, and overall strategy. Jones is responsible for the legal affairs of the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation and the Nationals' Youth Baseball Academy.

Jones received a J.D. with honors from Harvard Law School, is a candidate to receive his M.B.A. from the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business (Executive MBA Program), and earned a B.A. with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he played Division I Baseball. He previously practiced at the law firm of Williams & Connolly LLP, served as an inaugural law clerk to the Honorable Roger L. Gregory of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, was a California State Senate Fellow, and was Adjunct Professor of "Sports and the Law" at Georgetown University Law Center.

Jones is committed to helping children through youth baseball and mentoring and currently serves as a Board Member and Secretary of the Nationals' Youth Baseball Academy, a Board Member of Chevy Chase Baseball, Inc., and a volunteer coach at Capitol City Little League in Washington, D.C.
