DUI Enforcement Saturday Night In Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Drunk drivers beware: Alexandria Police will be conducting targeted DUI enforcement somewhere in the city Saturday night.

Police will patrolling in search of impaired drivers from 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2 to 5 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3. Drivers will be stopped to check for impairment from drugs or alcohol.

Authorities remind drivers the maximum penalty for a first driving under the influence offense is 12 months in jail, a $2,500 fine and a 12-month suspension of a driver's license. Additional jail time depends on the blood alcohol content of the driver.
