Emergency Repairs Underway For Rush Hour In Alexandria

Emergency utility work has prompted lane closures on a portion of North Washington Street Monday evening. Two lanes of southbound North Washington Street between Oronoco Street and Pendleton Street, are closed.

The left southbound travel lane of North Washington Street and all northbound lanes are open. Repairs will continue through the rush hour. Drivers are asked to consider alternate routes and avoid the area.

Officials did not specify details of the utility concern. The same section of North Washington Street had one lane closure for a water main break repair on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
