A PDA in Clay: Creative Shopping for Love

ISO some TLC? Embrace artisan handmade creations made with a little love in February at Scope Gallery in the Torpedo Factory Art Center.

FYI: Original pottery is perfect for your SO, LTR or no.

It's the thought that counts, it is often said, and original clay creations are mediations on creativity from the heart. Consider a mug for BF, vase for GF and you could be, like, BFF and maybe more.

Love for pottery shows with the assortment of handmade ring holders, tableware and sculptures. Dishes for keepsakes and trinkets are ready to be put on bureaus and bedside tables to hold jewelry, glasses, perfume and personal treasures. A pair of matching bowls, sushi plates or mugs will keep couples together well after VD.

Looking for more than flowers and chocolates? Present preferred treats in a candy dish or cake plate that will carry sweet remembrances. Posies in an elegantly original vase, streaked with delicate seared horsehair or sparking with vibrant crystalline glaze, will delight the VIP in your life.

If your love's love is for the animal or plant kingdom, a teapot with a floral motif would plant you firmly on first. Cuddles could come with a polar bear statuette, rooster tableware or handpainted koi plate.

This year, think creatively outside the box for inside the box. Take a detour from Hallmark ASAP, because honey will [heart] handmade clay art.
