Join us for the launch of Creativity in Plume Writing Retreats at the historic Morrison House in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia within minutes of Washington, DC. This inaugural retreat will coincide with the 2011 Historic Garden Tour and the Smithsonian Craft Show and begin mid-week following the National Cherry Blossom Festival. 

The retreat includes writing instruction, course materials, 4 nights lodging, spa breakfast and wine reception daily, complimentary transportation to Reagan National airport, tickets to the Historic Garden Tour and Smithsonian Craft Show, one plated luncheon, one author celebration dinner, 10% discount at Lorien spa, embossed journal, walking tour of historical area and complimentary wireless internet.

Best-selling authors Laura Fraser and Kaylie Jones will lead 12 hours of group discussion and be available for individual coaching.  In addition, William O’Sullivan, senior managing editor for the Washingtonian, will provide tips on how to pitch personal essays to gain the attention and respect of editors.  And Nancy Smith, founder of Walton Street Stationers, will personalize the retreat with her passion for handwritten letters as another form of personal communication.
