FAIR (Free, Aware, Inspired, Restored) Girls prevents the exploitation of girls worldwide with empowerment and education. Through prevention education, compassionate care, and survivor inclusive advocacy, FAIR Girls creates opportunities for girls to become confident, healthy, happy young women.
You will have a chance to meet D.C. area members of the Jewel Girls program and buy their handcrafted jewelry. Jewel Girls Is an economic empowerment and therapeutic art program that gives a chance for safer, healthier, and brighter futures. Jewel Girls supports 200 teen women in Bosnia, Serbia, Russia, Uganda, and Washington, D.C. Participants come together each week to create unique jewelry while gaining access to therapy, new life skills, financial management skills, and pathways toward a future free of poverty and violence. Many of the Jewel Girls have experienced sex and labor trafficking as well as extreme poverty. However, the Jewel Girls program focuses on their resiliency and passion for a better life.
Fifty percent of proceeds go to the individual girl artist and fifty percent goes toward purchasing new supplies and materials to sustain her program.
