Film Screening: “Homecoming”

Watch this epic story of African American farming in the South. “Homecoming” chronicles land loss and black farmers from the Civil War to the present and features archival footage and audio tracks including the voices of Malcolm X, Fannie Lou Hamer and Julian Bond. Producer/director Charlene Gilbert places her own family farm in Montezuma, Georgia, squarely in the historical context of the black farm movement in America.

The film viewing will be followed by a discussion.
