Featuring Nasar Abadey, the educator, composer, and
band leader happens to be a talented drummer from the Washington, DC area. He has been the recipient of grants and fellowships for composition, performance and merit by the most prestigious
music arts organizations in the US including the National Endowment for the Arts and Humanities. His music has taken him to jazz festivals and
concerts all over the world to perform with legends such as Sun Ra, Milt Hinton, Dizzy Gillespie, Pharaoh Sanders, Cyrus Chestnut, Stanley Turrentine, and Ella Fitzgerald. Mr. Abadey describes his music as MULTI-D, which is multi-dimensional and multi-directional. He formed his group SUPERNOVA
to explore this concept and to exercise his artistic license to perform and explore African American classical music as part of the process. Join us for
Jazz at Meade and the Nasar Abadey experience.
