Parade Day Museum Open House: Free Tours on President's Day

Celebrate George Washington’s 280th birthday in Old Town Alexandria. Enjoy the annual George Washington parade and tour the Carlyle House for free!   Step into the Carlyle House, the 18th-century home of John Carlyle, one of Washington’s close friends, and learn about our 1st president’s early life, as a soldier in the French and Indian War.  On February 20, 2012, from 1-3 pm, Alexandria will host America’s largest Washington parade. The parade route goes right past the front door of the Carlyle House.  Our lawn is the perfect place to take in the festivities.  Warm up inside and learn some history on your free tour!
