QuinTango concert with dancers

QuinTango brings a special sizzle to Alexandria this week. Eight young dancers from Mount Vernon Community School will share the stage with QuinTango on Friday, June 8, at Minnie Howard Auditorium.  Trained in tango dance by Argentine tango professional Carina Losano, these young dancers will join 20 young  ACPS string students whomake up the ACPS All City StringTango Orchestra.

Additional guest artists include Argentine bandoneon player Emmanuel Trifilio and tango dancers Jennifer & Fabio Bonini (from Chile and Brazil. respectively).  The concert will include music by Carlos Gardel and Astor Piazzolla.  The concert is part of MINDS WIDE OPEN: Children and the Arts and is supported by the Alexandria Commission for the Arts and ACPS Arts Center.

The free, hour-long performance is appropriate for all ages.  There is ample free parking in both east and west parking lots of Minnie Howard.  The public is invited to meet the performers at a reception following the concert.  For more information call 703-548-6811.
