Benjamin Duke is the winner of our 2012 Open Exhibition competition, unanimously selected from over 80 proposals by a panel of three jurors. Duke presents his series Sublime Rupture, featuring large paintings defined by lush color and vibrant energy.
Open Exhibition is an annual opportunity in which the artist selected receives a solo show in Target Gallery and an exhibition catalog. This year’s distinguished juror panel included Jack Rasmussen, Director and Curator of the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center in Washington, DC, Catriona Fraser, international award winning photographer and the Director of Fraser Gallery, and David Page, internationally acclaimed South African-born, Baltimore-based sculptor.
