Advent Calendar Closing Celebration & Silent Auction

The Christmas Attic and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic® invite the local community and media to the closing celebration of the Advent Art Exhibition/Project on Saturday, January 7th, 2012 from 12-2PM.  The Christmas Attic partnered with area schools, churches, and community groups to produce 24 illuminating canvases of art that were revealed daily from December 1-24 on the store’s windows and building.  The advent calendar project was a community collaboration celebrating the store’s 40th Anniversary.

At the closing celebration, the canvases of advent art will be available via a silent auction.  Proceeds from the auction will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic®.  The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.  Light refreshments, family friendly activities, advent artists and representatives from the Make-A-Wish Foundation will be available. All are welcome.

The January 7th auction date was selected as it coincides with the end of the traditional Christmas calendar – when the three kings arrive to see Baby Jesus (the Day of Epiphany).
