First Day of Fall Arrives Wednesday in Alexandria

Fall officially began in Virginia at 4:22 a.m. Wednesday morning, Sept. 23.

“During the autumnal equinox, day and night are balanced to nearly 12 hours each all over the world,” weather.com reported.

Today’s Google doodle is even dedicated to the change of the season.

If you’re lamenting the last of the lazy days of summer, don’t fret! In Northern Virginia, we are likely to have more than a few warm days left. Here’s some of the most awesome things about autumn:
