Fitness Studio For Rowing Workouts Opens In Alexandria
Row House focuses on workouts using a rowing machine and is the first location in Northern Virginia.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Rowing doesn't have to be a workout only done with a team on the water. Row House, a fitness studio emphasizing workouts with row machines, is open at 917 North Saint Asaph Street in Old Town Alexandria. The location is the first in Northern Virginia.
Married couple Fahad and Ayesha Qureshi tried out indoor rowing workouts after deciding to open their own business. After noticing the rowing concept wasn't prevalent in the area, they decided to open a Row House location in their hometown.
"I was not very athletic and would be intimidated in the group fitness class, but Row House is a great workout to bring people together," said Fahad Qureshi. "People of all fitness levels can find Row House beneficial and we can’t wait to introduce this concept to Northern Virginia residents."

Rowing uses many of the body's muscles, boosting calorie burning, activating the core, strengthening the body and improving posture. The six class offerings — House, Body, Power, Restore, Full Row, and LAUNCH — are meant for different fitness levels. The studio uses Concept2 rowing machines, which Olympic athletes, cardiac rehab patients, rowers and others utilize.
A grand opening event is planned for Sept. 21. For class schedules and membership information, visit www.therowhouse.com/location/old-town-alexandria.
